Kiran Thapa has won a cash prize of Rs 100,000 under the weekly lucky draw scheme, becoming the fourth winner of the third season of ‘Kantipur Ko Karodpati’.
Subash Dhakal, editor-in-chief of Saptahik, a weekly published by Kantipur Publications, handed over a cheque for the amount to Thapa at Kantipur Publication’s office at Central Business Park, Thapathali, on Tuesday.
“I am happy to win the prize. I plan to donate some amount of this win to rainstorm victims in Bara and Parsa through a club in Samakoshi,” said Thapa, a helicopter pilot, who has been serving in the Nepal Army for the last 22 years.
The third session of ‘Kantipur Ko Karodpati’ was launched on March 29 this year.
Under the campaign, the subscribers of the company’s English and Nepali national publications—The Kathmandu Post and Kantipur—stand to win Rs10 million at the end of the campaign.
Apart from the weekly contest, the Karodpati scheme also offers Rs1 million every month to lucky winners throughout the campaign period that runs for five months.
Launched first in 2015, the publications has so far produced two karodpatis (millionaires) through its subscription scheme. In previous years, the scheme was launched as Kantipur Swarnapur Subscription Scheme.
