Bhusal new NRA CEO following Pokharel's resignation
A cabinet meeting on Monday appointed Yubaraj Bhusal as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of National Reconstruction Authority (NRA) after Govinda Raj Pokharel resigned from the post.
A cabinet meeting on Monday appointed Yubaraj Bhusal as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of National Reconstruction Authority (NRA) after Govinda Raj Pokharel resigned from the post.
Bhusal, a former Finance Secretary, is also in-law of Nepali Congress leader Ram Chandra Poudel. Poudel had unsuccessfully lobbied for Bhusal during Nepal Rastra Bank governor race.
Pokharel resigned from his post on Saturday and is preparing to contest upcoming elections from Pyuthan district. Election Commission had directed him to leave the district for taking part in election activities while still assuming the NRA top post.
Pokharel had served as the Vice-Chairman of National Planning Commission before being appointed the NRA CEO.
Erstwhile Pushpa Kamal Dahal-led government had appointed Pokharel as the NRA CEO. Dahal's government had sacked Sushil Gyawali, appointed by KP Sharma Oli-led government, to appoint Pokharel for the top post.
