8 arrested for hurling stones during Bisket Jatra in Bhaktapur

The suspects have been identified as Suman Silpakar, 32, of Banksagopal, Suman Sintakala, 24 of Dudhpati, Ramesh Ghusi, 21, Umanga Munkarmi, 18, and Rajan Bhele of Taumadhi, Surendra Deshemaru, 25, of Tripurasundari, Nuchheram Kharbaja, 30, of Itache and Sitaram Suwal, 50, of Taumadi.
According to Bhaktapur Metropolitan Police Range spokesperson Krishna Prasain, they were nabbed with the help of CCTV cameras.
A public offence charge will be filed against them, Prasain informed.
Earlier, as many as eleven persons including four on duty policemen were injured after clashes flared up during the ritual of pulling Hindu God Bhairab's chariot on the first day of the renowned Bisket Jatra.
