All Nepal Football Association (Anfa) on Saturday declared a 14-member squad for the AFC Futsal Championship Qualifiers, the maiden international futsal tournament for Nepal.
Nepal are competing in Group ‘A’ of South and Central Zone of Qualifiers from October 15 to 17 in Iran. Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan are other teams of the group while hosts Iran, Afghanistan and Tajikistan are in Group ‘B’.
The winners and runners-up from all eight groups will earn ticket for final rounds to be played next year in Chinese Taipei.
Coach Rakesh Shrestha, the former national team captain, finalised the squad from the pool of 27 players after nearly a month long training camp. Rajesh Khadgi and Bishnu Gurung are the assistant coaches. (PR)
