A Nepali legendary marathon runner Baikuntha Manandhar has been honoured with the 'Prithvi Award-2072'.
At a programme organised by the Department of Sports, Youths and Students under the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP)-Nepal here on Sunday, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs, Kamal Thapa, honoured Manandhar for his significant contribution to the nation through athletics. The award carries a purse of Rs 200,000.
Expressing commitment to settle the budget dispute surfaced in view of coming 12th South Asian Games taking place in India, DPM Thapa laid emphasis on national unity.
On the occasion, Manandhar said that such felicitation would encourage youth athletes to do something good for the nation.
