A couple lost their lives after being buried in a landslide while collecting fodder near their village in Arghakhanchi district on Monday.
According to police, 66-year-old Govinda Budhamagar and his 67-year-old wife Shyamakala Budhamagar of Dhanchaur Tallopakho of Bhumikasthan Municipality-10, were found dead at the scene.
The couple had left their home in the morning to cut grass and collect butternut fruit from their land at Tusarepani, said Police Constable Narbahadur Karki of the Dhanchaur Police Post.
Family members began searching when they failed to return by 1 pm. Their bodies were later discovered buried under debris from a dry landslide, likely triggered by loose soil conditions.
The deceased couple are survived by their daughter-in-law and grandson, who lived with them. They had three daughters—all married—and two sons, one of whom lives abroad and the other in Pokhara.
