The local residents of Sunawal staged demonstrations on Tuesday demanding that the Lumbini Sugar Mill immediately control pollution.
The locals said they were compelled to hit the street as the sugar mill ignored their concerns despite multiple requests.
The protesters claimed that smoke and dust released from the mill polluted the environment. The mill administration, however, said that it would install an instrument soon to control the pollution.
