A 40-year-old man, Premnath Yadav, was shot dead by unidentified assailants near Mainawati Khola in ward 7 of Siraha Municipality on Friday afternoon around 3:45 pm.

The police are at the scene and investigating, said Ramesh Bahadur Pal, spokesperson for Siraha police.
