Two arrested for looting police rifle in Janakpur
Suspects accused of arson, vandalism and theft; SLR rifle with 50 rounds recovered by police

Police in Dhanusha have arrested two individuals accused of vandalism, arson and looting during unrest at the Madhesh Province Public Service Commission office in Janakpur on September 9.
The suspects had allegedly stolen a self-loading rifle (SLR) belonging to a police officer on duty.
The statement issued by the District Police Office, Janakpur, said that 37-year-old Manish Kumar Adhikari and 21-year-old Santosh Kumar Yadav, both residents of Janakpur-9—were taken into custody after a search operation based on CCTV footage analysis.
Police recovered the looted SLR rifle along with 50 rounds of ammunition from their possession.
The duo are accused of entering the premises of the commission office in Janakpur-9 and vandalising four cars, four motorcycles, CCTV cameras and office property before setting them on fire.
Police further stated that investigations are ongoing into their involvement in wider incidents of vandalism and arson at several government and private offices in Janakpur.
