Security has been tightened along the Nepal-India border in Saptari as tensions between India and Pakistan continue to escalate.
Authorities have intensified surveillance at all border crossings, with strict checks on individuals entering Nepal from India.
Officials have also begun maintaining records of those crossing the border. Chief District Officer Bhola Dahal and members of the District Security Committee inspected the border areas on Thursday.
Dahal said a high vigilance has been enforced, with the Armed Police Force coordinating joint patrols with Indian security personnel.
He added that border outposts (BOPs) are conducting rigorous checks along the 78-kilometre stretch of Saptari’s border with India.
