Police on late Wednesday arrested a man on charges of raping a 15-year-old girl in a rented house in the Siraha district.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Rabindra Raj Pandey, accused Nikesh Kumar Yadav was detained by the police from his residence in Sukhipur Municipality Ward 2.

Pandey said that the survivor’s condition deteriorated after receiving initial care in Lahan, and she was subsequently referred to the Nobel Medical Hospital in Biratnagar.

According to the police, further investigation into the case is underway.
