Graft-accused local unit chief suspended
The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority arrested Umesh Prasad Yadav chairman of Bishnupur Rural Municipality in Saptari district on Wednesday.

The chairman of Bishnupur Rural Municipality in Saptari district has been suspended after the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) detained him on corruption charges.
The anti-graft body arrested rural municipality chief Umesh Prasad Yadav on Wednesday.
The Special Court remanded him into custody for investigation. The CIAA team had arrested the accounts officer and computer operator of Bishnupur Rural Municipality with Rs500,000 bribe two weeks ago.
The anti-graft body claimed the rural municipality chief was also involved in taking bribes.
