Indra Bahadur Angbo, outgoing Minister of Economic Affairs and Planning, was unanimously elected the leader of the provincial assembly party of CPN (Maoist Centre) on Tuesday.
Angbo was elected the leader by the meeting of the provincial assembly party held under the chairmanship of Narayan Bahadur Magar, the senior-most assembly member of the Maoist Centre. He has been elected to the Assembly from Panchthar 1 (B).
Durga Prasad Chapagain, a central member of the party elected from Tehrathum 1 (B), had staked claim for the provincial assembly party leader, withdrew his claim after assurances that he would lead the party if it joins the government with the coalition, said an assembly member said.
The Maoist Centre has won 13 seats in the Assembly.
