Charali and Dhulabari at high risk of dengue, health workers say

Health workers have urged the residents of Charali and Dhulabari to stay on alert stating that these areas are at high risk of dengue. The locals were warned of a possible outbreak of dengue as many mosquito larvae were recovered in motor garages and tyre retreading centres in Mechinagar Municipality-13.
The municipality has intensified its efforts to contain the disease.
“The municipality has launched a campaign to destroy larvae and the possible habitats of mosquitoes,” Mayor Bimal Acharya said.
According to Ram Narayan Yadav, assistant coordinator at the health unit of the municipality, four patients were diagnosed with dengue in Mechinagar this year.
Following an inspection of the area, health technicians warned that the Charali area in ward No 13 and the Dhulabari area in ward No 10 are at high risk of a dengue outbreak.
After an alarming number of dengue cases came to the fore in Dharan of Sunsari district, many people were diagnosed with dengue in Morang and Jhapa districts as well.
