Election Commission submits poll report to President Paudel
EC report includes the final names of the 275 members elected under the first-past-the-post and the proportional representation systems.Post Report
The Election Commission (EC) on Thursday presented the final report of the House of Representatives elections held on March 5 to President Ramchandra Paudel.
Ram Prasad Bhandari, officiating chief election commissioner, presented the report to the President during a special ceremony organised at the Office of the President, Shital Niwas.
During the event, President Paudel expressed satisfaction over the successful conclusion of the polls, noting that they were conducted with dedication and integrity despite “difficult and complex circumstances”.
“By conducting the House of Representatives elections on March 5 in a free, fair and fearless environment, the commission has successfully fulfilled its constitutional mandate,” the head of state said. “I feel this has bolstered public trust in the Election Commission and the electoral system, further strengthening our democracy.”
The EC report includes the final names of the 275 members elected under both the first-past-the-post and proportional representation systems.
The submission marks the formal conclusion of the general elections, clearing the way for the President to initiate the process of government formation.
