Two dead, two critically injured in motorcycle-scooter collision in Jhapa

Two people died and two others sustained critical injuries in a collision between a motorcycle and a scooter in Bahradashi Rural Municipality, Jhapa, on Wednesday afternoon.
The accident occurred at around 3:30 pm on an inner road section of Khayarbari, Bahradashi-1, when a motorcycle and a scooter travelling in opposite directions collided head-on, according to Jhapa district police.
The deceased have been identified as 60-year-old Sriprasad Rajbanshi of Kachankawal-3, who was riding the scooter, and the motorcycle rider, whose identity is yet to be confirmed. Both were rushed to the Provincial Hospital in Bhadrapur but died during treatment.
The crash also left two passengers seriously injured—27-year-old Urmila Rajbanshi, the daughter-in-law of Sriprasad, and her three-year-old son Ayush Rajbanshi. They have been referred to B&C Hospital in Birtamod, where their condition is reported to be critical.
Jhapa police said an investigation team led by an inspector has been deployed to the scene to carry out further inquiries and legal procedures.
