Pushpa Oli has been unanimously elected chairman of the Young Communist League (YCL), the youth wing of the CPN (Maoist Centre).
Maoist Centre central committee member and YCL In-charge Ram Prasad Sapkota said Ganesh Shahi was elected general secretary during the YCL’s third convention held in Kathmandu.
Although Keyar Singh Kunwar, Oli, Shahi, Karma Pulami and Nawaraj Aier were among the aspirants for the top post, the leaders settled on Oli’s name through consensus.
The YCL is open to members under the age of 40.
