Novelist and ex-journalist Chalise dies aged 74
His writings covered journalism, fictional narratives, sci-fi and children’s literature.

Vijay Chalise, a prominent novelist and former journalist, passed away aged 74, at 9:30 am on Friday. A resident of Gokarneshwar Municipality, Ward 9, Chalise’s funeral rites are being performed at the premises of the Gokarneshwar Mahadev temple.
Born on 6th July, 1951 at Aarubari of Jorpati, Chalise used to be the executive chairman of Gorkhapatra Media House and the Chief Editor of the Gorkhapatra National Daily. He authored various writings spanning journalism, fictional narratives, sci-fi and children’s literature.
The son of Nepali writer Ramesh Bikal, Chalise had recently published ‘Yugsandhi,’ a novel.
