Govt forms three-member panel to probe chopper crash

The government has formed a three-member panel to investigate the Air Dynasty chopper crash that took place on Wednesday.
The emergency meeting of the Council of Ministers held on Wednesday decided to entrust the committee led by Suvas Thapa, senior pilot of the Nepali Army, with the responsibility of probing the incident.
According to Minister for Communication and Information Technology Prithvi Subba Gurung, who is also spokesperson of the government, aeronautical engineers Vishnu Basnet and Tanuja Pokhrel are the members of the panel.
The committee has been given 30 days to investigate the crash and submit a report to the government.
In the meantime, the bodies of the deceased have been brought to Kathmandu on Wednesday evening.
All five on board died in the crash in Shivapuri Rural Municipality-7, Nuwakot. The deceased are identified as Captain Arun Malla, and four Chinese nationals including Tang Jutao, Wu Yijao, Li Jie, and Xie Zemin.
The 9N-AJD chopper belonging to Air Dynasty took off from Kathmandu at 1:54 pm for Syaprubesi, Rasuwa.
