Man arrested on charge of posting photos of rape victim

Police have arrested a man on the charge of publicising photos of a rape victim.
According to police, 32-year-old Keshar Man Rai of Ward 2 of Chichila Rural Municipality of Sankhuwasabha was arrested and brought to Kathmandu on Wednesday for further action.
Rai is accused of posting pictures of Gaushala 26, the name given to the victim, raped by cricketer Sandeep Lamichhane, on social media soon after Kathmandu District Court sentenced the cricketer to eight years in prison.
Rai was arrested based on a complaint lodged by the girl with the cyber bureau of Nepal Police, said Superintendent of Police Pashupati Raya, spokesperson for the bureau.
Raya said the man will be charged as per the Electronic Transaction Act.
