The ruling alliance has appealed to voters to cast ballots for it in the November 20 polls for safeguarding the constitution and ensuring political stability and prosperity.
In a joint appeal on Thursday, Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba, CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, CPN (Unified Socialist) Chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal and Rastriya Janamorcha Chairman Chitra Bahadur KC said the elections should defeat the coalition of regressive forces, indicating to the UML-led alliance.
“Our resolutions, commitment and manifesto have been made public. Since the alliance is for the directly-elected electoral system, it is natural that all parties ask for votes in their favour in the proportional representational system,” the leaders said through the appeal issued a few hours before the commencement of the silence period. “The next government will be formed through a clear majority of the coalition and the government will ensure political stability under the spirit of the constitution.”
The coalition said that the threat of regression has not yet subsided, and said that if the alliance does not get a majority, the same trend may return.
The leaders have claimed that the goal of the alliance is to prevent any kind of attack on the constitution and raise the country to the level of a developing country by completing development projects on time.
