200 students Get India’s Scholarship
Two hundred Nepali students have been selected for India’s Golden Jubilee Scholarship Scheme. The selected students will be able to study MBBS, BE, BSc, BA, B Ed, BBA and other under-graduate courses at various universities and colleges in Nepal.Two hundred Nepali students have been selected for India’s Golden Jubilee Scholarship Scheme. The selected students will be able to study MBBS, BE, BSc, BA, B Ed, BBA and other under-graduate courses at various universities and colleges in Nepal.
This scheme was started by the government of India in 2002 for meritorious Nepali students to mark the completion of 50 years of India-Nepal Economic Cooperation that started in 1951.
Under the scheme, an MBBS student receives Rs 4,000 monthly for five years while a BE student receives Rs 4,000 monthly for four years. A student studying in other under-graduate courses receives Rs 3,000 a month for three years.
More than 2100 students have benefited from the scholarship programme so far. Shanker Das Bairagi, secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Indian Ambassador to Nepal Manjeev Singh Puri congratulated the selected students at a programme in the Capital on Friday.
