2 killed in Jhapa wild elephant attack

Two elderly men died in a wild elephant attack at Sundar Nitajhoda Community Forest in Biratamod Municipality-7 of Jhapa district on Saturday afternoon.
According to the Area Police Office, Biratamod, the deceased have been identified as Chyangra Ranbansi, 65, of Birtabazaar, Birtamod-3 and Lasune Miya, 70, of Miyabari.
DSP Krishna Koirala of the Area Police Office, Birtamod, informed that the duo died on the spot after being attacked by the wild elephant.
Police surmised that the duo might have been attacked by the elephant while they had gone to the forest to collect fodder for the cattle.
