Rolpa
Unidentified groups attacked repeater towers of NCell, a telecom operator, in Rolpa, Nuwakot and Dhankuta districts on Monday night. The assailants detonated Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) and damaged the telephone towers in Korchabang of Rolpa and Uttarpani of Dhankuta, while setting alight the tower in Gerkhu of Nuwakot. The Ncell phone services have been disrupted in the areas. Police suspect that Netra Bikram Chand-led Communist Party of Nepal might have been involved in the attacks. The incidents happened on the eve of “People’s War Day” that is observed to commemorate the day the then Maoist rebels had started armed revolution in the country in 1996. Investigation is under way into the incident.
