Pashupati Gyawali, chief of North South (Koshi) Road Project, said the construction of 36 km road between Hatiya and Pepung had been delayed because they did not have excavators and tractors.
As there is no motorway access to transport the vehicles to the site, Gyawali said the they had to seek the NA’s assistance.
The road construction will resume from this week, he added. The road link with Kimathanka is expected to open in two years. Upon completion, it will become the shortest road to connect China and India (390 km). The construction of Upper Arun Hydropower Project is also expected pick speed after the road is completed.
