Dolpa

A 4-magnitude earthquake struck Dolpa district early Sunday morning, authorities said.

According to the National Earthquake Measurement Centre, the quake occurred at 3:06am with its epicentre near Kanjirowa Mountain. Kanjirowa, located in ward 9 of Shey-Phoksundo Rural Municipality, stands at an elevation of 6,883 metres.

There have been no immediate reports of casualties or significant damage. Local authorities are still assessing the situation in the affected areas.

Earthquakes are common in Nepal due to its location in the collision zone between the Indian and Eurasian tectonic plates.
