Two hotels were damaged after a cargo truck crashed at Daunne along the East-West Highway on Sunday morning.
Police said the truck carrying marble suffered brake failure before ramming into the buildings at Daunne Bazaar in ward 2 of Binayi Tribeni Rural Municipality.
The crash destroyed the Dhaulagiri Hotel and Lodge, operated by Binanath Padhya, and partially damaged the Pawan Hotel, run by Pawan Lamsal, according to police.
No customers were present at the hotels at the time of the incident, and the operators managed to escape unhurt.
Police have taken the truck and its driver into custody for investigation.
