The whereabouts of Suresh Kedia, a member of Kedia organisation, who was abducted from Baghaban along the Kalaiya-Mahagadhi road stretch in Bara district on Thursday evening, is still unknown, according to police.

Police claimed that the kidnappers might have already taken Kedia to the Indian side despite coordinated searches along the border points.

District Security sources have informed that the search for the abducted businessman is underway along the bordering Indian towns in coordination with Indian Police.

Meanwhile, the health condition of Kedia’s driver Shyam Sah Kanu, who was shot in the temple during the kidnapping, is said to be improving. Kanu is receiving treatment at Chitwan-based Bharatpur Medical College.

Security measures have been stepped up in the district after the abduction incident, said Birgunj police.
