Five Bangladeshi nationals held for duping job seekers

Police have arrested five Bangladeshi nationals from Kathmandu on charges of defrauding foreign job seekers by promising overseas employment through Nepal.
The suspects were residing in ward 9 of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, Kalimati.
According to police, the group lured 13 Bangladeshi individuals through agents, claiming they would send them to countries including Australia, Italy, Spain, France, and Serbia for employment. The victims were brought to Nepal on tourist visas, with each paying $3,500. The suspects collected a total of $45,500 before severing contact.
Acting on a complaint, a team from the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office in Teku apprehended the five from Shiva Satakshi Guest House in Sinamangal.
They have been handed over to the Kathmandu District Police Range for further investigation and legal proceedings.
