A youth has severely injured a girl by attacking her with a knife for allegedly rejecting his love proposal.

Ful Kumari Magar,17, of Bohori Bot in Panchawati VDC-4 in Udayapur district was severely injured in the incident. Also injured was her cousin Geeta Ranamagar,14, who tried to raise an alarm against the attack.

Purna Bahadur Sarki,16, of Bhutar VDC-8 in the district has been charged of attacking the two girls at their home last night, according to District Police Office, Udayapur.

The boy reportedly climbed into the room of Ful Kumari from the window at around 11:00 pm last night, and attacked her with a knife, causing injuries to her head and chest. He also attacked Geeta, who was sleeping with her aunt, after she raised an alarm against the intruder, police inspector Rajendra Basnet said.

Seriously injured Ful Kumari has been rushed to the Dharan-based BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences. Meanwhile, a search has been intensified to find Sarki, who fled following the incident, police said. RSS
