The Tarai Madhes Loktantrik Party, a key constituent of the agitating Madhes –centric parties, celebrated its 8th anniversary in Kathmandu on Monday.

The party formed in 2064 BS (December 27, 2007) celebrates its anniversary on 13th of Poush (Nepali calendar) each year. 

Organising a programme at party office in Bijulibazaar, Kathmandu today, party Chairman Mahanta Thakur said the ongoing Tarai agitation would stop only if the demands put forth by the Tarai-centric parties were addressed. He stressed on the need to hold point-wise discussion to their 11-point demand. 

Party Deputy Chairman Hridayesh Tripathi said that due to prolonged Tarai agitation and death of many protesters, the party decided to mark its 8th anniversary as a ‘resolution programme’. 

Tripathi said that party resolved to continue its agitation to achieve Tarai demands in a selfless manner.
