Local residents want service centres established in Dharan
Political leaders in Dharan have demanded the authorities concerned to set upservice centres of Inaruwa-based government offices in the sub-metropolis at the earliest.
service centres of Inaruwa-based government offices in the sub-metropolis at the earliest.
The government nine months ago had decided to establish such service centres in the sub-metropolis to serve local residents at their door-steps. However, the plan has not yet been implemented after some people led by Inaruwa Chamber of Commerce and Industry protested the decision.
Even Chief District Officer Rabilal Pantha had promised to set up these service centres in the city three months ago but he too could keep his words citing security concerns. Party leaders, however, are not satisfied with the delay saying that the security situation in Sunsari is not as bad as in other districts.
A joint meeting of leaders of various parties in Dharan recently decided to bring all required documents from the district headquarters to the new offices. They have already installed signboards of the Land Revenue and Land Survey areas offices at one of the sub-metropolis buildings. The concerned ministry has already asked the Inaruwa-based Land Revenue and Land Survey offices to set their service centres in Dharan.
District Land Revenue Office chief Shrawan Kumar Pokhrel said they could relocate documents due to security concerns. “We can take them to Dharan within half an hour if security is guaranteed,” he said.
Pokhrel said the signboards were installed based local political parties’ decision and that they also issued a second notice to rent a suitable office space as their first notice did not yield any result.
