Nat’l anthem lyricist to get govt allowance
Government has decided to provide Rs 25,000 as monthly allowance to Byakul Maila (Pradeep Kumar Rai), the lyricist of the current Nepali national anthem titled Sayaun Thunga Phool Ka Hami.
A Cabinet meeting held at Singha Durbar on Thursday took a decision to this effect.
Maila had composed the national anthem after the government rejected the previous national anthem with the country becoming federal democratic republic. The allowances, according to information and communications minister Minendra Rijal, will be provided
for lifetime.
Likewise, the meeting promoted three officials of the law service-Ranjan Krishna Aryal, Rajendra Subedi and Badri Prasad Gautam to special class positions.
The meeting also decided to provide one million rupees to the organiser of the recently-held International Buddhist Conference while it also decided to provide Rs. 100,000 each to Rihanarosh Dhapali and Chandra Chandan Salwani, the burn victims of the dowry-related dispute.
