China South Asia Expo, Nepal kicked off at Bhrikutimandap exhibition hall on Thursday. The expo has been held in Kunming, China since 2003. This is the first time it is being held outside China. The fair is very important for promoting Nepali products in China, the organiser said.
“The expo has attracted organisers and participants from different countries. Hence, Nepal can reap maximum benefits from this event to promote its products,” said Basnet.
The event has been organised by the China South Asia Expo Secretariat and co-organised by the Yunnan International Exposition Affairs Bureau of China and the Nepal-China Executive Council.
The expo hosts 150 standard stalls showcasing brands from Chinese and South Asian companies. There are 21 special pavilions of different countries while Chinese products are displayed in the standard booths. More than 100 Chinese traders are expected to take part in the expo.
The exhibitors have displayed goods and machinery related to energy, electricity and information technology besides bio pharmaceutical products. Likewise, home appliances, tea, handicrafts and food processing and packaging machines are on show at the expo.
Companies from Nepal and South Asia have showcased gems and jewellery, leather products, garments, tea, coffee, shoes and tourism products.
