Mega Bank Nepal CEO Anil Shah is set to become the new president of the Nepal Bankers’ Association (NBA) after no one else filed candidacy for the post till the deadline on Tuesday.Mega Bank Nepal CEO Anil Shah is set to become the new president of the Nepal Bankers’ Association (NBA) after no one else filed candidacy for the post till the deadline on Tuesday. The 30th annual general meeting of the NBA on Wednesday will declare Shah, who is currently serving as senior vice-president of the association, as the new head of the umbrella body of commercial banks in the country for a two-year tenure.
Shah started his banking career from Nepal Grindlays Bank, now known as Standard Chartered Bank Nepal. He then moved to Nabil Bank as general manager before joining Mega Bank as CEO.
The NBA executive committee has also unanimously elected Civil Bank CEO Kishore Maharjan to succeed Shah as its new senior vice-president. Maharjan’s current position of vice-president will be filled in by Nepal Bangladesh Bank CEO Gyanendra Dhungana.
