As summer sets in, apparel stores in the Kathmandu Valley have rolled out a wide range of summer clothing and discount offers to lure customers.

Levi’s store at City Centre, Kamalpokhari, buoyed by a steady rise in the number of customers looking for summer clothes, has launched new varieties of jeans, t-shirts and chinos for both men and women.

“Due to increased demand, we have started bringing in a new range of summer wears, and the business too has started to pick up,” said Saurav Maharjan, salesman at the Levi’s store.

The stores offers jeans prices ranging from Rs4,999 to Rs12,000. “We have been offering a 10 percent discount on our products since March,” Maharjan said.

“Whistle”, another store at the mall, said the products they brought targeting this summer have already been sold out. “We  offer quality products at a reasonable price, therefore customers pre book our products. We are getting another stock at the end of this month,” said Ajay Prajapati, proprietor of Wistle.

Prices at the store range from Rs1,500 to Rs3,500.

Another City Centre store—“Action”—has been offering a 10 percent discount on its products. The store offers products like t-shirts, leggings, and party dresses. “Some of the newest items at our stores are ‘Davida’ chiffon shirt and cotton quarter pants,” said Sneha Karki, sales women at the store.
