‘Blood for Rolpa’, a mobile app, has come into operation with the objective to meet the blood demand in Rolpa district.
Keeping in mind the lack of a blood bank in the district, eight youths of Rolpa developed the app that provides information about the volunteer donors who can be contacted in times of crisis. So far, information on 50 blood donors have been updated in the app and six donors have already donated blood to the needy, according to campaigner Binod Dangi.
The mobile app, however, is only available in an android platform.
Purna KC, mayor of Rolpa municipality, said, “Hopefully, people of Rolpa wont have to suffer anymore due to lack of blood.”
Finding blood for the needy had always been a problem, but now, because of this app, it has become easier to search for blood, said Medical Superintendent of District Health Office Prakash Budha.
