Nepal scout marks 64th Scout day

The programme started at Nepal Scout’s central office and concluded at the Academy Hall after a rally in Capital.
Speaking at the programme Chief Scout and Youth and Sports Minister Satya Narayan Mandal stressed on the need to further elaborate the existence of a respected body.
During the occasion, a posthumous award was presented to Chandra Devlal Kaushik for his fifty years service to Nepal Scout.
Kaushik’s son Chandan Kaushik received the award. The award was presented by scout’s Chief Commissioner Rabin Dahal.
Koushik played a vital role in bringing the Scout Act and institutionalise Nepal Scout. He also presided as National Secretary and Assistant Chief Commissioner of Nepal Scout for 12 years.
Currently there are around 60,000 scouts in Nepal. Over 20,000 of them are women.
