Five people died on the spot while two got injured in a jeep accident that took place at Chanaute Dhaludhara of Besisahar, Lamjung early morning on Thursday.

According to police, the jeep plunged some 200 metres off the road into a field near Marshyangdi River. There were only seven people on board the jeep.

The deceased have been identified as Bharat Thapa,23, Basanta Shrestha,26, Musa Tamang,22, Khusiram Aley,25, of Besisahar municipality-10 and Nanda Gurung of Khudi-9. Hira Ghale and Akkal Tamang of the same locality were injured in the incident, and they are undergoing treatment at Manipal Teaching Hospital in Pokhara.
