Earlier, this morning, a clash occurred between the locals of Mills Area and the banda enforcers after the latter forcefully tried to shut down a shop of one Arjun Chaudhary.
Security personnel arrived at the scene of incident after which the protesters turned violent towards the security personnel. The police had to fire 11 rounds of bullets in the air and few tear-gas shells to disperse the demonstrators, informed Morang Police Spokesperson Pramod Kher.
The locals who are defying the banda have torched a motorcycle belonging to the demonstrators.
Likewise, the protesters have set fire on a motorcycle owned by Makalu TV and pelted stone towards TV correspondent Nabin Karn and Gorkha Patra correspondent Jitendra Yadav. They have sustained minor injuries.
A large number of security personnel from Nepal Police and Armed Police Force have been deployed in the area on the Nepali side. Similarly, the Indian side has also deployed large number of Seema Suraksha Bal (SSB) personnel.
Meanwhile, protesters have vandalised over half a dozen motorcycle at Mahabir Chowk here. The protesters burnt tyre and obstructed the movement of rickshaw and cycle as well.
