At a meeting of the committee on Sunday, Chairman Sitaula voiced his dissent over Nembang’s proposal saying the committee is capable of preparing the draft of constitution by itself. “CA chair might have said so in a strategic manner,” said Sitaula. “Perhaps his [Nembang’s] intention was to put moral pressure on the parties.”

Meanwhile, Sitaula informed that work on the draft of the new constitution could be completed in a week if the political parties could arrive at consensus.

Also at the meeting, CPN-UML lawmaker Bharat Mohan Adhikari said that the CA chair might have asked for the right to prepare a draft of the constitution just to put pressure on the parties.

UCPN (Maoist) lawmaker Giri Raj Mani Pokharel said the CA Chairman Nembang could prepare the draft on the remaining issues of dispute.
