Aamir Khan is Unicef’s Goodwill Ambassador for South Asia
Bollywood actor Aamir Khan has been announced as Unicef’s Goodwill Ambassador for South Asia region.

The Regional Director of UNICEF South Asia, Karin Hulshof, announced Indian cine icon Khan as the Goodwill Ambassador amidst a programme in the Capital on Thursday.
The 49-year-old actor had on Wednesday visited a health post at Pakadi VDC in Kapilvastu promoting nutrition for children and had interacted with local health workers and volunteers. He enquired the health workers about the status of malnutrition among children in the district and the efforts that were being carried out to combat the condition caused by deficiency of nutrients in diet.
“Not only women, every member of the family should be united in their efforts to counter malnutrition,” he said during the programme today, “We can’t be free from the problems of malnutrition if we are not united.”
Khan arrived in Kathmandu on Tuesday to participate in a Unicef-initiated nutrition programme in Kapilvastu. After attending the Unicef’s programme in the district yesterday, Khan also visited Lumbini, the birthplace of Lord Buddha.
The Indian actor further expressed his desire to visit Nepal soon with his family. He is scheduled to return India later in the evening, wrapping up his three-day visit.
