Expressing dissatisfaction towards the appointment of justices at the Supreme Court, Jumla chapter of apex court justice Ekraj Acharya resigned on Wednesday.
Acharya submitted his resignation letter to chief justice Damodar Prasad Sharma.
The Judicial Council had recommended eight names for the vacant posts of justices at the SC on Tuesday.
The council had recommended Baidhyanath Upadhyaya, Gopal Parajuli, Dipak Raj Joshi, Govinda Upadhyaya, Om Prakash Mishra, Devendra Gopal Shrestha, Cholendra Shamsher Rana and Jagadish Sharma for the post in the apex court which has only five permanent justices against the provision of 15.
Five temporary justices had left office around a week ago after their extended term got expired.
The justices will be formally appointed after a parliamentary hearing.
