President Ram Baran Yadav administered the oath of office and secrecy to Nembang who was elected as CA chairman yesterday.
Although the parties had earlier failed to reach consensus, Nembang was elected unopposed by the 571-member CA. Nembang will also serve as the Speaker in Parliament.
Vice President Parmananda Jha, Prime Minister Sushil Koirala, Acting Chief Justice Damodar Prasad Sharma, Minister Ram Sharan Mahat, heads of constitutional bodies, secretaries, heads of security bodies, amidst others, were present at the swearing-in function today.
Nembang, who held same post in the previous CA, had the backing of Nepali Congress (NC), Rastriya Prajatantra Party-Nepal (RPP-N) and other fringe parties.
