Eleven people have been injured following a bus accident on Tuesday afternoon. The bus, travelling from Damachaur of Chatreshwori Rural Municipality-1 to Tulsipur of Dang district, met with an accident in the Patare section of the Rapti Highway.

The injured were taken to the Srinagar-based Kantipur Community Hospital after being rescued by the locals and the police. Some of the injured have been discharged after treatment, informed Superintendent Gopal Prasad Shrestha, who is also the spokesperson at the Salyan District Police Office.

The cause of the accident is yet to be determined, said police. “But preliminary investigation shows it was the driver’s negligence,” said Shrestha.

The driver, a local resident of Damachaur of Chatreshwori-1, has been taken into custody and further investigation is underway, said police.
