Purna Bahadur Khadka emerges victorious in Surkhet-1

Nepali Congress Vice-president Purna Bahadur Khadka has secured his seat in the House of Representatives from Surkhet-1.
Khadka defeated UML’s candidate Dhruba Kumar Shahi by a margin of 11,619 votes. Khadka garnered 42,607 votes against Shahi who managed to get 30,988 votes.
Khadka was elected lawmaker in the 2048 BS, 2051 BS and 2056 BS elections from Surkhet-1. He was defeated by UML’s Shahi in the last elections.
Khadka has served as Minister for Information and Communications and Home Minister.
