With 2,014 new cases, Nepal's Covid-19 tally reaches 614,216

Nepal on Wednesday reported 2,014 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the nationwide infection tally to 614,216.
Similarly, 814 people tested positive in a total of 4,335 antigen tests, according to the Health Ministry.
As of Wednesday, 3,240,299 PCR and 123,386 antigen tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 8,687 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.
In its regular situation report, the ministry did not mention the death toll over the past 24 hours. It, however, reported 52 Covid-19-related fatalities, which included the number of deaths managed by Nepal Army on different dates.
The countrywide death toll has now reached 8,558. The number of active cases stands at 62,137.
According to the ministry, 543,521 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; 3,082 of them in the last 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 499 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of these, 354 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 66 in Lalitpur and 79 in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 602 new infections were recorded in Province 1, 177 in Province 2, 891 in Bagmati, 147 in Gandaki, 145 in Lumbini, six in Karnali and 47 in Sudurpaschim.
According to the data released by the ministry, 42 districts are home to more than 500 active cases each and other 17 districts host more than 200 active cases each.
On Wedesday, 902 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. Another 279—49 in Province 1, six in Province 2, 178 in Bagmati, 15 in Gandaki, 17 in Lumbini, seven each in Karnali and Sudurpaschim—were on ventilator support.
Nepal on Tuesday reported 1,681 new cases and 41 Covid-19 related deaths. Similarly, 2,049 new cases and 53 Covid-19 related deaths were reported on Monday and 1,694 new coronavirus cases and 46 deaths were reported on Sunday.
