With 2,049 new cases, Nepal's Covid-19 tally reaches 610,521

Nepal on Monday reported 2,049 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the nationwide infection tally to 610,521.
Similarly, 869 people tested positive in a total of 5,381 antigen tests, according to the Health Ministry.
As of Monday, 3,224,163 PCR and 113,210 antigen tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 9,438 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.
In its regular situation report, the ministry did not mention the death toll over the past 24 hours. It, however, reported 53 Covid-19-related fatalities, which included the number of deaths managed by Nepal Army on different dates.
The countrywide death toll has now reached 8,465. The number of active cases stands at 65,804.
According to the ministry, 536,252 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; 5,147 of them in the last 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 607 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of these, 396 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 145 in Lalitpur and 66 in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 468 new infections were recorded in Province 1, 110 in Province 2, 1,062 in Bagmati, 185 in Gandaki, 152 in Lumbini, 33 in Karnali and 42 in Sudurpaschim.
According to the data released by the ministry, 43 districts are home to more than 500 active cases each and other 15 districts host more than 200 active cases each.
On Monday, 995 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. Another 324—59 in Province 1, 10 in Province 2; 205 in Bagmati, 18 in Gandaki, 15 in Lumbini, nine in Karnali and eight in Sudurpaschim—were on ventilator support.
Nepal on Sunday reported 1,694 new cases and 46 Covid-19-related deaths. Similarly, 2,382 new coronavirus cases and 61 deaths were reported on Saturday and 2,709 new Covid-19 cases and 67 deaths were reported on Friday.
