Nepal’s Covid-19 toll reaches 3,070 with four more deaths
With 836 new infections recorded in the past 24 hours, the active case count stands at 5,008, according to the Ministry of Health and Population.Post Report
Nepal on Friday reported four more Covid-19 related fatalities, pushing the death toll to 3,070. The country also recorded 836 new cases and 64 antigen positives.
The overall infection tally has reached 282,890 with 5,008 active cases.
According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 274,812 infected people have recovered from the disease so far, 208 of them in the past 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 348 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of them, 286 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 43 in Lalitpur and 19 in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 385 new infections were recorded in Bagmati Province, 62 in Gandaki, 238 in Lumbini, 43 in Province 1, 52 in Province 2, 45 in Sudurpaschim and 11 in Karnali province.
As of Friday, 2,335,084 PCR tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 5,537 PCR and 621 antigen tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the data released by the ministry.
Until Friday, 100 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. Thirty-eight others—21 in Bagmati, one in Gandaki, 12 in Lumbini, one in Province 1 and three in Sudurpaschim—were on ventilator support.
Nepal on Thursday reported five Covid-19 deaths and 490 new infections. Similarly, three Covid-19 deaths and 580 new infections were recorded on Wednesday and five Covid-19 deaths and 460 new infections were reported on Tuesday.
