National Covid-19 tally reaches 279,100 with 332 new infections

Nepal did not record any Covid-19 related deaths in the past 24 hours, the Ministry of Health and Population said on Thursday.
The country’s overall death toll due to the Covid-19 related complications stands at 3,038.
In the past 24 hours, the ministry said, the country recorded 332 new coronavirus infections, pushing the overall infection number to 279,100.
According to the ministry, 273,608 infected people have recovered from the disease so far, 79 of them in the past 24 hours.
The active case count stands at 2,454.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 168 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of them, 139 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 22 in Lalitpur and seven in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 185 new infections were recorded in Bagmati Province, 62 in Gandaki, 29 in Lumbini, 22 in Province 1, three in Karnali, 22 in Province 2 and nine in Sudurpaschim.
As of Thursday, 2,302,173 PCR tests have been carried out across the country. A total of 4,006 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the data released by the ministry.
Nepal on Wednesday recorded two Covid-19 fatalities and 298 new infections. Similarly, 260 new Covid-19 infections were reported on Tuesday and 266 new coronavirus infections were recorded in the country on Monday.
